Thomaz Teodorovicz
Associate Professor of Strategic Management
Thomaz Teodorovicz holds an Associate Professorship Chair in Strategic Management at the University of St.Gallen. His research examines when and how the leaders of private and public organizations can pursue superior performance while providing solutions to pressing societal challenges. Prior to joining the University of St.Gallen, he was a postdoctoral researcher at Harvard Business School, and held the CBS Executive Fonden Assistant Profes-sorship Chair at the Copenhagen Business School. He has also held visiting appointments at INSEAD, SDA Bocco-ni, HEC Paris, and the Geneva Research Lab for Digital Impact. Thomaz Teodorovicz received his PhD in Business Economics from the Insper Institute of Education and Research.
Thomaz’s research examines how organizational governance, strategic choices, and human capital shape both or-ganizational performance and societal outcomes. His work spans public and private organizations, state-owned enterprises, public services, employment arrangements, and public-private collaborations. His research has addressed topics including comparative performance across public and private organizations, investments in the human capital of contract workers, and relocation incentives for remote workers. His research has been published in leading international journals, including Strategic Management Journal, Organization Science, and the Strategic Entrepreneurship Journal. His practitioner- and policy-oriented publications include contributions to the Inter-American Development Bank, Brookings Institution, and Harvard Business Review.
Thomaz serves on the Editorial Review Boards of the Strategic Management Journal and the Journal of Organization Design and holds leadership roles within the Academy of Management and Strategic Management Society. His engagement also extends to policy-oriented research, including projects with the Inter-American Development Bank and Brookings Institution. For his research and service, he has received multiple recognitions from the Strategic Management Society and Academy of Management.
Thomaz has taught strategic management at the PhD, MBA, master’s, and executive-education levels. His teaching covers strategic management and innovation, strategic management for the public interest, and managing the future-of-work. He has taught at Copenhagen Business School, INSEAD, and Harvard Business School.
