Günter Müller-Stewens
Professor em. of Management
From 1991 till February 2017, Günter Müller-Stewens was a chair holder and professor of strategic management, and from 1997 till 2016 Executive Director of the Institute of Management & Strategy (IoMS-HSG) at the University of St.Gallen. From 2005 till 2007, he was Dean of the School of Management. Also, from 2002 till 2016 he was founder and Acad. Director of the Master in Strategy and International Management (SIM), as well as founder and Acad. Director of the Master in Business Management (MUG) from 2011 till 2016. He is currently working at the University of St.Gallen on a freelance basis and lectures there.

Günter Müller-Stewens conducts research, teaches, and consults on matters of Strategic Management. He is the (co-)author of well over 400 publications. He is the founder and editor of the “M&A Review” (1989-2016), a member of advisory, administrative, and supervisory boards of international organizations and companies, a consultant and trainer for international organizations and companies, a speaker at interna-tional conferences and events, and the recipient of several international awards. Furthermore, he is a member of the editorial boards of scientific journals, a reviewer for scientific journals and conferences, and a member of international academic associations.

Since 1991: Professor at the University of St. Gallen and Director of the Institute of Management & Strategy; since becoming Emeritus in 2017: freelance collaborator; 2005-2007 Dean of the business department, 2003-15 founder and academic director of the Master of Strategy and International Management (SIM-HSG) and 2012-15 of the Master of Business Administration (MUG-HSG). Studied business administra-tion at the University of Regensburg (1977 Dipl.-Kfm.), PhD from the University of Munich (1981 Dr. rer.pol.), Habilitation at the University of Stuttgart (1987 Dr. rer. pol. habil). 1987-91 full university pro-fessor at the University of Duisburg. Habilitation at the University of Stuttgart (1987 Dr. rer. pol. Habil.), PhD from the University of Munich (1981 Dr. rer.pol.), studied business administration at the University of Regensburg (1977 Dipl.-Kfm.).
