Zurich Insurance Group launches AI Lab together with the University of St.Gallen and ETH Zurich

With the newly established Zurich AI Lab, Zurich Insurance Group is launching a joint initiative with the Institute of Management & Strategy at the University of St.Gallen and ETH Zurich’s Agentic Systems Lab. The aim is to reshape the insurance industry through artificial intelligence (AI) and accelerate the development of scalable AI solutions.

The Zurich AI Lab combines world-class academic research capabilities with Zurich’s extensive industry and technology expertise and a strong commitment to responsible innovation. Together, the partners aim to create new customer experiences that are faster, smarter, and more personal than ever before.

AI will radically transform the business model of the insurance industry. Research at the Zurich AI Lab will be conducted by a multidisciplinary team of PhD and master’s students, guided by senior leaders from Zurich and professors from the University of St.Gallen and ETH Zurich. Through this close connection between academia and industry, a new innovation ecosystem will emerge across St.Gallen, Zurich, and Singapore — accelerating the development and implementation of pioneering AI solutions.

With the Zurich AI Lab, a new platform is being created that sets new standards for the responsible use of artificial intelligence in the insurance sector.
