Fabian Takacs

Dr. Fabian Takacs is a Postdoctoral Researcher and Project Manager at the Institute of Management & Strategy (IOMS-HSG). His research focuses on sustainable transformation, circular economy, and business model innovation. At the IOMS Center for Circular Economy, he leads the interdisciplinary and practice-oriented Circular Lab, a laboratory for developing circular and sustainable solutions in the Lake Constance region with a particular focus on SMEs,  as well as the Circular Economy Leader Circle.

He is a co-developer of the Circular Economy Navigator, a hands-on methodology for designing circular business models, through which he has supported numerous companies and institutions on their path toward greater economic and ecological sustainability.

In 2025, under his direction, the 400-page book Der Circular Economy Navigator was published by Hanser Verlag. In 2020 and 2025, he and Prof. Karolin Frankenberger received the HSG Impact Award for research with significant societal impact.

He has published both academic and practice-oriented articles in journals such as the Harvard Business Review, Journal of Cleaner Production, and Resources, Conservation and Recycling.
